Trivandrum summer (March 1 – May 31) is dangerous for dogs left alone in apartments without AC. Indoor temperatures climb past 33°C by noon. Dogs cannot sweat — they dump heat through their tongue and paw pads only — and a closed apartment defeats both. Heat exhaustion can begin in under two hours.

Is the swimming pool safe in summer for all breeds?
The pool is the single best summer cooling tool, but not for every dog. Brachycephalic breeds (Pug, Bulldog, Boxer) get short supervised dips only. Senior dogs are assessed. Confident swimmers (Labs, Goldens, Indies) get longer midday sessions during the hottest hours.
Why is the 12–3 PM indoor rest mandatory?
Those three hours are when Trivandrum's heat index peaks. Mandatory shaded indoor rest with cool flooring, fans and water access is non-negotiable in summer daycare — no exceptions, no breeds excluded.
