Dog Hostel in Trivandrum — A Proper Stay, Not Just Storage
A hostel for a dog isn't about the room — it's about the structure. Dogs thrive on routine: consistent meal times, predictable activity windows, familiar caretakers, and a safe space to rest. Neolokam runs a structured daily hostel programme on 1.5 acres of farm — your dog has a schedule, not just a cage.
A Day at Neolokam Hostel
Every dog on a hostel stay follows this structure. Predictability is welfare.

Farm caretaker does first round. Toilet walk, water refresh, brief calm interaction.
06:00–09:00 AM — Active session
Supervised group play in behaviour-matched groups. Trekking on farm trails, swimming for those who want it. High-quality active time.
09:30 AM — Breakfast
Home-cooked individually portioned breakfast. Dogs fed in their assigned spots to prevent resource competition.
10:00 AM–04:00 PM — Midday rest
Dogs choose shaded rest zones. Light enrichment activities available. Caretaker on-site for welfare checks every 90 minutes.

Nose work, structured play, or additional training reinforcement depending on the dog's programme.
05:00–07:00 PM — Evening active session
Second group play, cool-weather farm walk, pool access. Caretakers supervise active mixing.
07:30 PM — Dinner
Evening meal, individually portioned. Post-dinner quiet settling time.

Dogs move to rest zones. Overnight caretaker on-property. Welfare checks at 11 PM and 3 AM.
Booking Your Dog's Hostel Stay
Trial Visit
Bring your dog 6–9 AM. We run the morning active session together. Dog is assessed for group placement. You see the routine live, not just described.
First Short Stay
We strongly recommend a 2–3 night test before any extended booking. This surfaces anything that needs adjusting — diet, grouping, rest preferences.
Ongoing Hostel Stays
Book individual dates or use an annual membership. Dogs who stay regularly become regulars — the caretakers know them and the routine settles fast.
Dog Hostel FAQ
What is the difference between 'hostel' and 'boarding' for a dog?
No meaningful structural difference — both involve your dog staying somewhere overnight. 'Hostel' often implies a more structured, longer-term stay with a daily programme rather than a simple overnight cage. At Neolokam the words are interchangeable. The defining features are: farm environment, behaviour-based groups, home cooking, daily updates, and a real daily structure — regardless of what you call the service.
Can my dog stay for weeks or months if needed?
Yes. We have dogs on extended stays of 2–6 weeks during their owners' overseas travel. Long stays are managed with a detailed care plan, weekly video calls with the owner, and any needed vet coordination. The annual membership is the most cost-effective option for extended or frequent stays — 30 days per year from Rs.11,111.
Will my dog be bored or lonely on a long stay?
The structure prevents boredom. Dogs on long stays at Neolokam typically settle into the routine by day 3–4 and behave calmly throughout. The mix of active sessions, rest, enrichment, and consistent caretakers gives them what they need. We send weekly photo and video updates on long stays so you can see the actual body language and energy — not just hear 'he's fine'.
