These are real ranges across the city based on what we and our customers have seen. Always verify with the specific facility.
Backyard / informal kennel: Rs.300–500/day
Concrete shed at someone's home. No vaccination check, no insurance, no written terms. Can work for one healthy adult dog at very short notice. Major risks: kennel cough, parasites, escape, theft. We recommend caution.
Standard pet boarding: Rs.500–800/day
Cage-based facility, basic feeding (kibble), shared exercise yard. Most Trivandrum pet shops offering boarding fall here. Acceptable for healthy, low-anxiety adult dogs on short stays.
Premium / cage-free boarding: Rs.800–1,500/day

Pickup & drop-off: Rs.500–1,500 each way
Distance-based. Within Trivandrum city: Rs.500–800. Kovalam/Kazhakkoottam/Technopark belt: Rs.800–1,200. Outside city limits: case-by-case. Our annual members get coordination at reduced rates.
Festival surge pricing: +20–40%
Onam, Vishu, Christmas, summer holidays, Diwali. Some Trivandrum boardings double rates during peak. Neolokam holds member rates flat — non-member rates may rise 15–20%.

Vet bill if your dog catches kennel cough at a sub-Rs.500/day kennel: Rs.3,000–8,000. Treatment for giardia from contaminated water bowls: Rs.4,000–12,000. Behaviour rehab if your dog comes back fearful or aggressive: Rs.10,000–30,000. Loss of trust between dog and family: not measurable.

Why is your boarding more expensive than the local pet shop?
Because what we provide is genuinely different. 1.5 acres of farmland costs more than a 200 sq ft cage room. Home-cooked food costs more than dry kibble. Trained behaviour-aware staff cost more than minimum-wage cage cleaners. A trial visit, behaviour assessment, named partner vet, and daily updates take staff time. We are not the cheapest in Trivandrum and we don't try to be — we try to be honestly priced for what we deliver.
Are there any hidden fees at Neolokam?
No. Boarding includes meals, accommodation, daily play, daily updates, and the trial visit. Optional add-ons are clearly listed: grooming Rs.1,500, pickup/drop coordination from Trivandrum city Rs.500–1,200, additional dog at the same booking ~30% off second dog. Festival-period bookings have early-bird discounts but no surge pricing for members. All terms are shared in writing before any payment.
Do you offer payment plans for the annual membership?
We accept the membership fee in two instalments at no extra charge: 50% at signup, 50% within 90 days. Family/multi-dog discounts apply (second dog ~30% off).
