Dog Boarding with Pickup & Drop in Trivandrum — Neolokam Member Coordination
The farm is at Malayinkil, Kollodu — accessible from all parts of Trivandrum. Transport is a common question from prospective members. Here's how Neolokam helps you get your dog to the farm stress-free, and what to know before drop-off day.
How Members Get Their Dogs to the Farm
There is no single answer — the right option depends on where you live in Trivandrum and your schedule. These are the three most common approaches.
Personal Car (Most Common)
The majority of Neolokam members drive their dogs to the farm. The journey from central Trivandrum (Pattom/Kowdiar) takes approximately 35–50 minutes. From Technopark and Kovalam, expect 20–35 minutes. A direct, uncomplicated route.
Pet Taxi Services
Several pet-friendly taxi operators in Trivandrum will transport dogs to Neolokam. For existing members, we can share contact details of drivers who are familiar with the route to Malayinkil and comfortable with dogs.
Member Carpooling
Some members living in the same area coordinate drop-offs and pick-ups together. If you are new and live near existing members, Neolokam can connect you — a practical solution that also helps dogs arrive calmer in familiar company.
The 6–9 AM Drop-Off Window — Why It's Fixed
Neolokam's farm day begins at 6:00 AM sharp with morning play and socialisation. Dogs that arrive during this window integrate naturally into the day's routine — they join the group at the right moment in the day's rhythm.
Arrivals after 9 AM disrupt the feeding schedule, the mid-morning rest period, and the group dynamics of dogs already settled for the day. A dog arriving at 11 AM into a calm group causes unnecessary disruption for every dog.
Pick-up is also in the 6–9 AM window. This creates a predictable, consistent routine — which is what dogs (and their owners) need to make boarding stress-free.

Tips for the Car Journey to the Farm
A calm, uneventful car journey sets the tone for a good boarding stay. These basics make a measurable difference.
Keep the Car Cool
Kerala heat makes car journeys risky for dogs. Run the AC before the dog enters and keep it running. Never leave your dog in a parked car even briefly.
Crate or Seat Belt Harness
A crate in the boot or a crash-tested dog seat belt harness is the safest way to transport your dog. Unrestrained dogs in cars are a safety hazard to both dog and driver.
Car Sickness on First Trips
Dogs new to car travel may experience motion sickness — drooling, restlessness, or vomiting. Short practice trips before the first farm visit reduce first-journey anxiety. Do not feed a large meal within 2 hours of travel.
Familiar Scent Item
Bring a piece of your clothing or your dog's favourite blanket in the car for comfort. On the first drop-off, leaving a familiar-smelling item at the farm helps dogs settle faster.
What to Bring on Drop-Off Day
A short checklist to make sure your dog's check-in goes smoothly.
- check_circleVaccination records (required — at least Rabies, Distemper, Parvovirus)
- check_circleCurrent leash and collar
- check_circleAny regular medication with clear dosage instructions
- check_circleEmergency contact number (yours and an alternate)
- check_circleOne familiar-smelling item (optional but helpful for first stays)
- check_circleDog food if your dog has a specific prescription diet (Neolokam provides home-cooked food as standard)
Note: Neolokam provides all food and water as standard. You do not need to bring your dog's bowls or commercial pet food unless your dog is on a specific prescription diet confirmed with us in advance.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Neolokam run its own pickup and drop service?
Neolokam's primary service is cage-free dog boarding on the farm. We do not operate a dedicated dog transport fleet. However, for members, we help coordinate transport — by providing pet taxi contacts familiar with the farm route, and connecting members in the same area who are interested in carpooling. If you need transport arranged for your dog's stay, WhatsApp us and we will advise on the best option for your location.
Why is drop-off only between 6 AM and 9 AM?
The farm day begins at 6 AM with morning play and socialisation. Dogs that arrive during this window integrate naturally into the day's routine. Arrivals after 9 AM disrupt group dynamics and the feeding schedule. The fixed window is also practical for members — it creates a predictable routine for both dogs and their owners. Pick-up is also in the 6–9 AM window.
The farm is in Malayinkil — is it far from central Trivandrum?
From central Trivandrum (Pattom, Kowdiar, Vazhuthacaud), the farm is approximately 35–50 minutes by road. From Technopark and Kovalam, expect 20–35 minutes. What should I bring when I drop my dog off?
Bring your dog's vaccination records (Rabies, Distemper, and Parvovirus certificates are required), their leash, any regular medications with dosage instructions, and an emergency contact number.
