Dog Boarding for Vacation — Enjoy Your Holiday, They Enjoy the Farm
Going abroad or on a long holiday from Trivandrum means planning your dog's stay weeks in advance — especially during Onam, Christmas or summer. Neolokam accepts bookings up to 90 days ahead for vacation periods. Your dog gets a structured farm routine while you travel.
The Holiday Boarding Checklist — Plan 4 Weeks Ahead
Use this when planning any trip from Trivandrum that means leaving your dog behind.
Book the trial visit first
If your dog hasn't visited Neolokam before, do the trial 4–6 weeks before your travel date. Do not trial the week before — there isn't time to fix any issues.
Complete a 2–3 night test stay
After the trial, a short test stay 2–3 weeks before your main trip confirms the routine works. You travel with confidence, not fingers crossed.
Update vaccinations before the stay
Check Rabies, DHPP and Bordetella. Most vets need 1–2 weeks notice for boosters. Outdated vaccines = rejected boarding.
Prepare a detailed care brief
Diet requirements, medication schedule, emergency vet contact, any sensitivities. WhatsApp it to us 48 hours before drop-off.
Book early for holiday windows
Festival season (Onam/Vishu/Christmas) fills 4–6 weeks ahead. Annual members hold priority slots. Book as soon as you confirm your travel.
Share your travel itinerary
We need your departure and return dates, international contact number, and a local emergency contact who can make decisions if we cannot reach you.
Bring enough food for the full stay plus 2 days
If your dog is on a specific diet or brand, bring their full supply plus 2 days extra. Labelled with name and daily portions.
WhatsApp updates continue throughout your trip
Daily photo + brief update. Even from overseas. You see your dog; your dog is fine; you enjoy your holiday.

Vacation Boarding FAQ
We're going abroad for 3 weeks. What happens if there's a medical issue?
Our protocol: assessment by our team and partner vet, immediate contact to you (WhatsApp + call), coordinate with your local emergency contact for any decisions that need to happen quickly. We maintain a documented decision-tree for common situations so staff don't wait for instructions — your dog gets care, you get notified. For 3-week+ overseas stays, we request your international number, WhatsApp, a local relative contact, and your vet's details before departure.
Can my dog board for 4+ weeks?
Yes. Stays of 4–12 weeks are managed with a detailed long-stay care plan, weekly video updates, monthly weighing and wellness check, and any vet coordination needed. Long-stay rates are slightly reduced from standard day rates. Annual membership is strongly recommended for anyone boarding this long — the maths strongly favour it.
What if my return flight is delayed?
WhatsApp us as soon as you know. If your dog's booking end date passes, we automatically extend the stay and invoice the additional days at your agreed rate. We never 'discharge' a dog whose owner hasn't returned — your dog stays safely until you collect them.
