Pet Sitting in Trivandrum — When Boarding Isn't the Right Fit
Some dogs do better staying in their own home — seniors, post-surgery dogs, severely anxious dogs, or families with multiple pets that don't travel well. Our pet-sitting service sends a trained sitter to your home for daily visits or overnight stays, with the same standards we apply at the farm.
When Pet Sitting Beats Boarding
We recommend pet sitting for these specific cases — and we will tell you when boarding would actually serve your dog better.
Senior dogs (10+) with established routines
Older dogs handle environmental change poorly. Staying in their own bed, on their own schedule, with familiar smells reduces stress dramatically.
Post-surgery or under-vet-care dogs
Recovery is faster at home. Sitter administers medication on schedule, monitors incision sites, and updates your vet directly when needed.
Severely anxious or fear-aggressive dogs
For dogs who cannot tolerate any boarding facility, sitting at home is the only ethical option. Sitter is briefed on triggers and management before any visit.
Multi-pet households (3+ dogs, cats, birds)
Boarding logistics become impractical. One sitter visiting your home cares for everyone with their existing routine intact.
Short trips (1–4 days) where boarding is overkill
For a weekend away, sitter visits 2–3 times daily for feeding, walks and company. No relocation stress.
Pets with rare conditions / specialty diets
Diabetic dogs needing insulin on schedule, raw-fed dogs with strict prep, dogs with rare medication regimens — all easier in their own kitchen than transferred.
Houses with security / pet-flap requirements
Some homes need a person present to keep alarms armed and pet flaps active. Sitter handles both.
Owners returning to a calm dog, not an over-stimulated one
Sitting maintains the home routine entirely. Your dog returns to nothing — they were never away.

Pet Sitting FAQ
How much does pet sitting cost in Trivandrum?
Drop-in visits (45 min, includes feeding + walk + photo update): Rs.500–700 per visit. Overnight stays at your home (12 hours, sitter sleeps over): Rs.1,200–2,000 per night depending on number of pets and any specialty care needs. Multi-day bookings get reduced rates. Compared to membership boarding, sitting is more expensive per day — the value is in routine preservation, not cost.
How do I know I can trust the sitter in my home?
Every sitter passes background verification, signs an NDA, and is bonded for in-home damage liability. We provide ID, contact, and references. For first-time bookings, we strongly encourage you to do the home assessment yourself before any visit. Many families also install a simple wifi camera in common areas — we have no objection and will discuss the camera coverage with the sitter upfront.
What if my pet has a medical emergency while I'm away?
Sitter assesses and triages immediately. For non-urgent issues, contacts you and your vet for guidance. For urgent issues (collapse, serious injury, suspected poisoning), transports your pet directly to your named vet or our partner emergency vet, and contacts you en route. We document the protocol with your vet's number, address, and after-hours contact during the home assessment so there is no decision-making delay.
